Why I am

Heart disease has always been a part of my life — which is why I’m asking you to Run (or walk!) for Heart with me this June.

When I was just six years old, I had my first open-heart surgery. I remember being so scared — but I was lucky. The surgery was a success, and I got to grow up, laugh, live, and love.

But at 41, heart disease returned. My mitral valve collapsed, and I needed a mechanical valve to survive. Since then, I’ve lived with atrial fibrillation — a condition that makes every day feel like I’m running a marathon, even when I’m standing still.

I’ve now survived two open-heart surgeries, and thanks to the support of my amazing family and friends, I’m still here — living life to the fullest.

But not everyone gets that chance.

Five years ago, I lost my beloved brother to sudden cardiac arrest. Losing him shattered my world — and it’s what spurs me on even more to put an end to this cruel disease.

This June, I’m taking part in Run with Heart — not just for me, but for my brother, for my family, and for the millions of others impacted by heart disease. I’m walking to raise awareness, to fund critical research, and to help save lives.

Please support my walk, donate if you can, and help me make every step count. Link to donate is below  🙏

With love,
Jacqueline — heart disease survivor, sister, and walker with heart ♥️

Will you help me Run For Heart?

This June I'll be feeling my heartbeat as I move a marathon distance to support people in Australia impacted by heart disease.

But I need your support. Every donation you give really means so much to me as I go the distance this June.

Your generosity also goes a long way to support the 1 in 6 people in Australia living with cardiovascular disease.

You'll be helping fund more life-saving research and support that can transform heart disease diagnosis and treatment.

I'm ready to Run For Heart (walking that is!) Are you ready to help save lives? Please donate now.
